Wedding Ceremonies

As a Humanist Celebrant, I perform ceremonies to help those who are without a church, do not wish to join or tithe to a church just to get married or do not wish to go through the hoops that many ministers require of you so that they will perform your ceremony.  Most of those requirements are expensive, unfair and a commitment that should not be required for two people to be bonded together in matrimony.

I perform weddings that are secular or humanistic in nature.  If you are renewing your vows, I can even help with that.  Whether you are looking for a simple ceremony or a more elaborate humanistic or secular wedding ceremony, I am here to help make this one of the most memorable days of your lives together.

Please note:  I am not an event or wedding planner.  If you need assistance with the actual planning of your wedding and reception you should consult someone who specializes in that aspect of your special day.  My part is to help you with the ceremony itself so that your vows are a perfect reflection of the commitment that you and your partner have for each other.

Same Day Weddings!

I can perform your wedding on the day that you call as long as my schedule is not full.  You will need to have the following items ready when I arrive to perform your ceremony: a marriage license, (Marriage licenses in Texas have a 72 hour waiting period (unless waived due to active duty military status) and are valid for 30 days.), 2 witnesses and proper ID to show that you are of legal age.

Payment for the ceremony is required prior to its commencement.  See the fees page for more info.

If you have everything that is required, get in contact with me and I will be more than happy to help you tie the knot!!

Note: I will only perform the ceremony at reasonable hours of the day.  Calls are not answered before 9:00 AM or after 6:00 PM.  I will make every effort possible to help you, so please don't hesitate to call.

Where do we hold the ceremony?

The choice is yours.  I do not have a chapel or formal setting so the ceremony will be held at the location of your choice.  You can hold the ceremony in your home, in a park, on a boat or beside a lake.  The choices are as varied as the people who are getting married.  I am open to consideration of all ideas for a custom wedding ceremony.  Whether you want something formal or a more casual jeans and a tee-shirt type of wedding, I can adapt to your needs.

What do we need to do first?

The very first thing to do is contact me to verify that the date you have in mind is open on my schedule.  Once that is taken care of, I do require that we all get together and discuss what you have in mind.  If you are not sure I will be happy to make suggestions.  At that time we will work out what the ceremony will be like and get the details in order.  I will need both parties present and do require that both have valid ID to be sure that you are of legal age.

Note: If you want to get married ASAP, I will remind you that Marriage licenses in Texas have a 72 hour waiting period (unless waived due to active duty military status) and are valid for 30 days.
