New Services - A Wedding and Some Pictures

I am a Humanist Celebrant in the DFW area.  What is a Humanist Celebrant and what do they do?  A Humanist Celebrant is very similar to a member of the traditional clergy, with one important exception – a Humanist Celebrant is a non-theist, and does not invoke or refer to any type of religion, god, deity or mystical power. Humanist Celebrants help people celebrate and mark life events like weddings, funerals, baby namings, commitment ceremonies and much more. 

Humanist ceremonies can be anything from the traditional white wedding (without the references to god) to an off the wall and unusual ceremony that simply celebrates our humanity and makes the occasion fun.  Ceremonies can include secular readings that the couple or family finds inspirational, additions like unity candles, rose ceremonies, sand ceremonies, hand fasting and much more. 

What area do you provide services in?

I live and work in Frisco, Texas.  I currently only perform services in the DFW Metroplex area within a reasonable radius that does not require an overnight stay.  If you do wish to have me perform a service for you outside this area, please let me know and I will see if it can be worked into my schedule.

Same Day Weddings!!

I can perform same day weddings as long as you have your marriage license, (Marriage licenses in Texas have a 72 hour waiting period, unless waived due to active duty military status, and are valid for 30 days.)  and proper ID to show that you are of legal age. 

If you have everything that is required, get in contact with me and I will be more than happy to help you tie the knot!! 

Note: I will only perform the ceremony at reasonable hours of the day.

Why use a celebrant or officiant?

Lot's of people ask why would I want to use a celebrant for a wedding or other ceremony?  There are several good reasons.  Many people do not belong to a church and do not want to have to join a church or go through ministerial counseling just to get married.  This can be expensive and is a commitment that they really do not want or need to make.  Some couples come from different religious or non-religious backgrounds and do not feel comfortable getting married in their respective churches.  Many people hold no religious beliefs, but still want to have something that is a little more special than a county clerk officiating on the courthouse steps.  And there are those who are in unconventional relationships that are simply unable to find someone to perform a commitment ceremony for them.

This is where I come in.  I help people to create the perfect secular or humanist ceremony for their needs.  I am happy to help you in preparing a ceremony that will be memorable and perfect for your occasion. Whether you need a small ceremony or want something bigger, we will work together to create the perfect ceremony for your occasion.
